SCVMTA THEMED RECITALS

Every other year, St. Croix Valley Music Teachers offers our students performance opportunity with a varying themed recital. This is typically held in the fall at UW-River Falls, and often, but not exclusively, follows a year where the Monster Concert was offered. All students - pianists, instrumentalists and vocalists - will be participating.

For 2024, we will be offering a Students Choice recital, with final details as follows:

Again this year, SCVMTA will be presenting a STUDENTS CHOICE recital at the Phipps Center. Our times for performances will be determined as registration numbers become apparent.

Important registration info:

  • Students may choose the piece that they would like to play

  • Time limit not to exceed @4 min…(requests for more time may be considered)

  • Teachers may put 2 short pieces together to create a suite

  • Registration fee = $10 per student event, $25 family max

  • Free will donation will be requested at the door

  • Students may enter 2 different events (i.e., solo and duet, solo and ensemble)

  • Teachers register students on the Google link (sent out)

  • When registering, be prepared to provide student name, teacher name, instrument, level (i.e. E/elementary, EI, LI, etc - see sheet),composition, composer, length of piece in minutes

  • No special requests will be taken for performance times

  • Deadline for registration = Wednesday, Oct. 16

The event will be publicized via WMTA’s FaceBook page, and SCVTMA’s FaceBook page, in addition to the placement of posters in area businesses and studios.
